This year we will be offering seminars to our new freshmen each quarter
We are happy to be able to offer faculty teaching in the DUE Freshman Seminar Program a research stipend of $1500/seminar for teaching.
In order to schedule your seminar in time to advertise it to new students when they enroll over the summer and to get it into the schedule of classes for other quarters, the application deadlines are:
Faculty who wish to teach a DUE Freshman Seminar are asked to complete this application.
You will receive an e-mail confirming your submission. Once you have submitted your application, please send an e-mail with a copy of your tentative syllabus attached to firstname.lastname@example.org. Your syllabus will help us decide which seminars to accept for each quarter should we get more applications than we are able to accomodate.
Acceptance into the program will be confirmed after the deadline and receipt of your syllabus and when your course is actually scheduled.
Proposed Location: Most seminars will be scheduled in General Assignment Classrooms that are smart rooms with a capacity of 22-30 students and with moveable chairs. If you have a preference for a side of campus (e.g. near your School), please let us know that so we can attempt to accommodate your preference.
If you wish to teach your seminar in a conference room in your unit, you will need to arrange yourself with your department/school scheduler to book that room for your preferred day and time. Be sure to do that, tell us the building and room number you have scheduled, and let us know the name and contact information for your scheduler so we can confirm availability and have the room listed for your course in the Schedule of Classes.
